Company History

Founded in 2009 by Anuj and Vinita Mittal, MJM Group began their journey with the acquisition of a single motel in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2004. Over the past two decades, they have grown the company from a $3 million venture into a $50 million diversified real estate development and investment firm.

MJM Group has earned a solid reputation for developing award-winning Marriott hotels and transforming raw land into fully entitled shovel-ready projects. As Co-Founder and CEO, Anuj brings hands-on expertise in land acquisition, site planning and entitlements & approvals, ensuring every site is developed to its’ highest and best use. MJM Group’s portfolio spans mixed-use, hospitality, retail, commercial and thoughtfully planned residential communities. By leveraging in-depth market analysis, collaborative planning with municipalities and key stakeholders, and meticulous execution, MJM Group positions its’ parcels for successful builder partnerships creating projects that add lasting value to communities.

Assembled and entitled parcels for high-end single-family homes . Oversaw planning, infrastructure approvals, and subdivision design . Delivered shovel-ready lots to regional builders.

Providence Road Townhomes Charlotte, NC

Assembled three contiguous parcels with existing single-family and multi-family structures. Re-zoned and entitled for 20 townhomes. Completed site-plan approval and sold to a regional builder.

The Courtyard Charlotte Steele Creek is in an ideal location adjacent to the Charlotte Premium Outlets. Its Bistro dining and beverage area opens to an expansive patio and pool area complete with fire pit and large screen TV for all of our guests to enjoy. The hotel also has custom-designed 2 bedroom suites available for families and those who enjoy more space.

MJM opened its beautiful Aloft hotel, which is located in the heart of City Park, the premier master development at Charlotte Airport. The 139 room hotel has an updated lobby design featuring the WXYZ bar and an improved indoor-outdoor guest experience which utilizes a nanawall between the lobby and pool/patio area.

Continuing the development momentum, MJM Group opens the 119-room extended stay hotel offering custom designed features such as vaulted foyer, outdoor fire pit, and bar with marble countertops. Located in Southwest Charlotte in the Steele Creek/Ayrsley submarket just minutes from the airport

Dual Brand Hampton Inn & Suites and Home2Suites Brooklyn Park, MN

This project, in joint-venture, allowed for the construction of a prototypical 4-story hotel with 205 rooms. MJM Group's forward understanding of market conditions in the growing area enabled them to precisely identify a suitable site for the brand conveniently near the new Target Headquarters.

Building off their success, MJM Group opens the custom designed, dual branded, award winning, 7-story hotel. Strategically located off Interstate 77 near Interstate 485, the 188-room hotel utilizes a shared check-in lobby and features a Nana Wall to merge the indoor and outdoor common space of the property.

Perfectly located midway between Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Interstate 40, the 6.5 acre site features 30,000 square feet of retail space. Fully leased before construction completion, the property consists of a hotel, shopping, and restaurants.

Quality Inn & Suites Durham, NC

For their first real estate project, Anuj and Vinita Mittal acquire an underperforming Fairfield Inn nearby to Duke University in the north-western region of Durham. Through a combination of renovations and improved operations, they are able to revitalize the 135-room hotel into a 115-room property by adding suites.
